Energy nest is an innovative energy source and the most modern power plant in the Czech Republic, which can flexibly respond to grid surpluses and deficits.
Hybrid energy source located in Vraňany
Energy nest provides ancillary services (AnS) for power balance, stability and security of the electrical grid. The modern energy solution combines gas turbines, powered by engines derived from aircraft, and a battery storage system, which is the largest in the Czech Republic. The technologies communicate with each other via a software operating system, developed with partners, that allows the two systems to complement each other while eliminating weaknesses.
Energy nest in numbers:
Total installed output 52.4 MW
- Aeroderivative gas turbines with an output 4 MW
- Battey storage system with an output 20 MW
Battery capacity 22 MWh
Number of turbines 6
Regulation range -20 MW to +30 MW
Maximum power gradient +/-100 kW/s
Innovative technology and operating system digitalize the energy sector and combines the latest technologies with advanced algorithms.
Flexible and modular: responds to grid demands and can be easily expanded.
Eco-friendly: remains in standby mode with zero emissions and without inefficient fuel consumption.
