The Smiřice Festival of Music is an event organized by the municipality of Smiřice. The company FVE CZECH a.s. has sponsored this cultural event since 2009.
Jaroslav Svěcený, a virtuoso violinist who was born in eastern Bohemia, is the main personality as well as one of the founders of the festival. The Smiřice Festival of Music takes place in Kaple Zjevení Páně (God Revelation Chapel) in Smiřice, a Baroque architecture gem. The 15th year of this music festival kicks off on Saturday March 17, 3. 2018 at 7 p.m. with a Janáček Chamber Orchestra concert. In addition to classical tunes, the event will bring some Latin-American and swing rhythms. Come over and enjoy soothing Baroque melodies as well as stimulating Spanish guitar performances. One of the ten concerts will be spiced up with recitations by the popular Czech actors Tomáš Töpfer and Jan Šťastný. The whole festival will finish with a closing gala evening on Sunday April 1, 4. 2018 at 7 p.m.
