Ceremonial opening of the largest photovoltaic power plant in all of Central, Siuther and Eastern Europe took place at Vepřek in Mělník County on Wednesday September 8th, 2010. The new complex with 26 blocks of photovoltaic panels has an installed output of 35 MWp.
PVP Vepřek: 35 MWp of installed output
Until now the title of the largest power plant in the Czech Republic belonged to the solar power plant near Stříbro in the Tachov County with just a one third output equaling 13.6 MWp. In September 2010 the FVE Vepřek project with its 35 MWp output has become not just the largest photovoltaic power plant in the Czech Republic, but also in Central, Southern and Eastern Europe. It is also currently the ninth largest photovoltaic power plant in the world.
The newly developed 13 block complex stretches over an area of 82.5 ha, which represents an area of about a hundred football fields. The first construction works on the photovoltaic power plant have started in March of 2010 and at the start of September 2010 FVE Vepřek was ceremonially opened. Project was developed by DECCI, a.s., which presents its photovoltaic power plants under the single trademark, FVE CZECH.
